Tips for Success
- Whisk Thoroughly: Ensure the egg mixture is well-whisked to create a smooth and even texture.
- Even Layering: Distribute the candied tomatoes, caramelized onions, and cheese evenly to ensure each slice is packed with flavor.
- Check for Doneness: The edges should be set, and the top lightly browned. Insert a toothpick in the center; if it comes out clean, the frittata is done.
- Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh basil and parsley enhance the dish’s flavor and presentation. Don’t skip these garnishes!
Variations
- Add Protein: Incorporate cooked bacon, sausage, or ham for an extra layer of flavor and protein.
- Vegetarian Delight: Add other vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms to the frittata mix.
- Cheese Alternatives: Try using Gruyère, feta, or goat cheese instead of mozzarella and Parmesan for a different flavor profile.
- Herb Variations: Substitute basil and parsley with thyme, rosemary, or chives for a different herbaceous twist.
